Junk Brand Headband: Trial and Tested

I am in LOVE y’all!

DOUGHMOTIONS_BBL-S1_590x.jpg

Recently I was at my local sporting goods store and decided to splurge on myself a tiny bit. I was a bit skeptical as I have the oddest luck with headbands and tbh, paying $16 for a sports headband. But I found out it’s WORTH it! This review is of my own accord, and I bought this headband with my own money. It is sponsored by no one, and I just wanted to put some information out there on a product I am enjoying!

Slippage (or a lack there of)
This headband STAYS PUT! It doesn’t slip around. doesn’t pop off the top of my head near my ponytail. It actually stay in place. It also doesn’t twirl around on the top of your head.

Fit
Normally a downside to no slipping is a tight, headache-inducing fit. Not so with this head band! It’s just perfect, I often have headaches and migraines. I’ve made sure to try on the headband when I had a headache as well. It didn't make my head hurt more, and it has NEVER given me one. Which is quite a feat for me.

Texture
This headband is so soft, and comfy! I honestly love it!

But did it keep my hair and sweat off my face?!
Short answer: YES! While I clearly don’t wear on my whole forehead, I did try it out, and it absorbed sweat without feeling soggy/sopped. More importantly for me, it kept the hair-based sweat from trickling down my face and back of my neck. YET, it is still breathable enough to where I felt cool enough while running and lifting weights.
It also didn’t soak up any dye from my hair color (rainbow prism in the semi-selfie) which has just as much to do with fabric as dye (I dye my hair enough to know both can be a cause).

OVERALL?: 5/5 Stars!!!

I can’t recommend this headband enough! In fact I’m planning on buying one of the ear warmer headbands soon, so I can do a winter run review, and even try it as a casual band in my cold city!

@Influenster & @CoverGirl Make-Up Product Review

Recently, I received a Influenster box of CoverGirl goodies for review! In it were the Lash-Fame Mascara, and their Intensify Me eyeliner. To be honest, I was surprised how much I liked them.

I've been wearing them both quite a bit for about a week and a half (long enough for me to see if there's any sensitive eyes issues). I'll be honest, I'll probably buy them when I run out. There was a handy dandy little card in the box as well, giving an overview about what was "new" in these two new products! Also it gave tips on how to use the products to get the best bang from your product buck.

The mascara did a great job at lengthening my short lashes. Additionally, the way the bristles are intended to be used with lots of twirling--a technique that I employ, and that others do too I'm sure ;).

Here are my lash results (I am wearing the eyeliner as well, and the below pic is indoors, while the top is outdoors). They do look longer to me...but I am kind of a makeup n00b.

Top: After
Bottom: Before
The eyeliner was something I thought I wasn't going to enjoy at all. The liquid liners I've been able to use have all had a "dry-&-peel" effect, where I apply a line, and, after it dries, it becomes like a paper sticker on my lids which I can peel off in one go (ew...gross). That was NOT the case with this one! This one worked more like a heavily pigmented make-up marker. It didn't irritate my eyes, nor did it cake, or, give me sticker line!

Make-up n00b powers...ACTIVATE!
One thing I really enjoyed about this eyeliner was the paddle-shaped tip of the liner. As you can see in the pic below, it made it SUPER easy to draw a winged look and control the thickness of the eyeliner lines.
Thick or thin?

Also, the eyeliner has a more matte plastic to improve your grip on the pen-like shape! For less skilled folks (like yours truly) this helped! A lot! My hand stayed quite steady compared to just flat out glossy barreled pens (like I said, I've tried a few).

All in all, I would definitely not hesitate to recommend these! In fact, I know the Intensify Me liner is on my "shopping" list! I enjoy the mascara, but I have one that I use rather faithfully already (by Physicians Formula). However if you're a super loyal Cover Girl fan, I would definitely make sure to check it out!

Grades:
Lash Fame Mascara: 4/5
Intensify Me Eyeliner:  4.5/5

I Hope you enjoyed this review! I'm trying (slowly) to do more! Let me know what you thought of this review in the comments! Or, if you have any questions on these products and my perspectives let me know too! Suggestions on improvements would be helpful too!

Disclaimer: These items were sent to me for free from Influenster. I received these products complementary from Influenster for testing purposes. All pictures in this post are by me, unless, stated otherwise.

On Wednesday I showed some groovy sleeves from Groovy Baby Action Gear!

Buzz Lightyear!!!
"As a chronic over-user of the word "awesome" and someone who regularly abuses exclamations points, I have landed in my ideal place in the world. A runner myself, I started Groovy Baby Action Gear to celebrate the euphoria of the finish line. I also decided it was time to provide some seriously fun running and cosplay options for all those quirky, fun events that seem to keep popping up everywhere we go.
I strive to celebrate the uniqueness of every character, athlete and individual so if you have an idea for a pair of custom sleeves, hit me up and we'll co-create just the right pair for you!"

In addition to the items in her shop, Katie is working on some more AWESOME character designs, and she looks forward to creating sleeves: JUST. FOR. YOU.!!!

And now for my first review!

These Little Mermaid sleeves are first and foremost: FUN!!! They are a pretty poison green, with a sparkly, shiny  scaled print (sorry, my phone is my camera, so I don't feel I'm doing them justice). Also, these could double as Poison Ivy props too!!!

The fabric is stretchy, and breathable, but sewn fitted so they won't slip and slide down your arms, but they are not suffocating or overly tight. I ran with them Monday and Tuesday. Monday was very warm and where I was running it was 78 degrees with a small breeze, and I didn't feel overheated at all with them on. Tuesday was more like 64 (I was even running at the same place!) and the sleeves kept me warm enough while my body heated up from running. I also like that if they are too warm, they aren't bulky like a long-sleeve, or sweatshirt, and can fold up really small and fit in a fanny pack or pockets (yup, you read that correctly: I occasionally have run with a fanny pack...keys).

Though they are meant primarily for costume fun runs (which I totally want to, and will do!) they are officially a part of my go to for spring cardio!

I give them 5/5 Kirby's!!!
