Charizard Workout Cosplay

Happy April Fool's Day! Today's Workout Cosplay is based on one of the "OG Starters:" Charizard!!! That dragon (though strangely, not "Dragon-Type" in the game) of fire, and flying. This is more of an all-gym-terrain cosplay! Cardio, weights, or yoga should be comfy in this (also, my current addiction: SPIN heehee).

While I'm a more of a Squirtle-starter kinda gal myself, but I think it's fair to say that Charizard really is a bad-a$$ Pokemon!

I really do like Pokemon! (lol, can you tell?!)

Which was your favorite starter of the first Pokemon game? Bulbasaur, Charmander, or, Squirtle?

Let me know in the comments!

Also, if there's a Workout Cosplay you'd like to see tweet me

@Joie_Fatale

 (or, in the comments too)!

I Am Groot! (Workout Cosplay)

My favorite movie last year was Guardians of the Galaxy, and with Marvel's up-coming (just over a month away!!! **squee**) Age of Ultron (AoU) I'm going to apologize in advance if I'm a bit Marvel-crazy.

Just kiddin...I'm not sorry ;-P

So let's start with Groot!!!

Groot.WorkCos.jpg

I really like Groot in the movie as he felt like R2-D2's "Nature Form" in his way of speaking where at first you only hear one thing when he talks, but the more you watch/as the movie progresses, you start to understand him.

Also (SCROLL PAST if you don't want your view of this part altered

FOREVER) my friend Autumn made a funny notation about the movie:

All those shiny-twinkling-spores? Yeah...that's Groot sperm (pic via)

I've been doing HIIT, and Spin classes a lot as of late. In addition, I've been Wogging (walking-and-jogging...together...it's awesome! Trust me!) and working with weights, especially focusing on my arms through hand-, & kettle-weights, and TRX bands (hurts so good). As you can see from the featured shirt (4): Biceps don't grow on trees! And while I'm not looking to get "swole" or, "jacked" having arm muscle is necessary! Also, I would like to be able to do a pull up...so I need more arm/shoulder/back strength! lol

I loved Guardians of the Galaxy! I hope AoU is as good as last year's two Marvel movies (GotG & Winter Soldier are in my Top 3 comics movies with The Dark Knight...cause that movie really was perfect lol).

Are you stoked to for Age of Ultron? How about any of the other up-coming Marvel releases?

Homesick Happens

I'm sorry if this comes off as a rant...it's not meant to be one. Just, more of a getting it off my chest, and if you want to send out a little prayer, or good thought for me, I'd appreciate it.

I'm on the opposite side of the country from people I've known and loved for nearly all of my life. It's a weird adjustment because I am still, fighting how different this is (even it's been long enough to not be doing/feeling this way). While I'll joke about missing food places such as Mexican food (it's not good here...#SendHelp...#SendBurritos), Korean food (#SendBibimbap) and of course, my beloved In-N-Out (#SendDoubleDouble #NoHouseSaucePlease). There's some weird things...like vegetables are more expensive than meat...and there's a lot of up-charging that goes on out here.

On the plus side is, it's a new experience, and I've made some great new friends. I've been working out a lot (five times a week). I am with my husband and we are in a house, versus a sardine-can-sized apartment. We have so much more space, and we have Imogen and Thorin--which in CA, we couldn't really afford a place where we could have a big dog!

But I'm missing my family and friends. My sister had twins one month before I left, and I miss just hanging out with her and my youngest brother and my parents. I miss my car (which I plan on having shipped soon).

I miss driving/walking down the street to things too. It seems like things are so far away from our house. I miss the ocean with waves. OK, I can walk to the beach here, which is pretty awesome...but there's no waves...can't win 'em all, right? ;)

I also miss the oppurtunities that Southern California has to offer. There's more variety.

P-Cola isn't bad though...but you know:
Homesick Happens

Philip J. Fry (Futurama) Workout Cosplay

Last week I featured one of my favorite robots, so, I thought today's Workout Cosplay should feature his favorite human:

FryPhilipJ.WorkCos.jpg

Fry is old, old, man who isn't actually old in physical age, but in years! Because of this, I figured I'd make two playlists! This first features a normal playlist that was inspired by him:

Let the nostalgia consume you!

Who is your favorite Futurama character?

Also, if there's a character you would like to see in a Workout Cosplay, let me know in the comments, or, on twitter!

Bender Bending Rodriguez Workout Cosplay

Futurama is a Fatale family staple. We love this show! It's consistently funny to the Tenor and I, even if we've seen it all...more than once! And as for fitness, let's be honest, I wouldn't mind being as strong as Bender, the loveable rascal! ;)

Bender.WorkCos.jpg

Also, I LOVE that Hydro Flask bottle! Its evocative of a beer bottle--you know, one of Bender's favorite things EVER,--but this is for water, and, it's 64 oz. which fits the daily "recommendation" of 8 glasses of water. PS. those shorts are for running, and will give you a shiny metal...Bender Bootie! ;)

Bender is a loveable scamp, and one of my favorite Futurama characters!

Have you seen Futurama (if you haven't, its ALL on Netflix)? Who's your favorite character?

If you have someone you'd like to see a workout cosplay of, let me know in the comments, or, tweet me!

Holy 'Ship!

This Fandom Friday post is brought to by the letter N, for (The) Nerdy Girlie, and the letter S for Super Space Chick. And by readers like you

I am late on this post, but I couldn't NOT do it! Yes! These are **cough-some-of-cough** my Ships!!!

source
1). Olive Snook and Ned (Pushing Daisies)
I really love Kristin Chenoweth, and--thanks to Pushing Daisies--Lee Pace, too! While on the show, Ned and Charlotte "Chuck" Charles are (perhaps) meant to be I always rooted for Olive Snook! She was so cute and I'm a sucker for unrequited love. I was really happy for the episode in the above picture for Olive, not just because of the kiss, but because Ned reveals that he once saw her the same we she sees him. In my version: Season 3 (which wasn't made) has them together. #SorryNotSorry

source
2). Fry & Leela (Futurama)
This has been since episode one. I didn't waver once on this. I couldn't. I will NEVER budge! Fry and Leela forever. Do I need to explain this?
source
3). Yoruichi Shihoin and Kisuke Urahara (Bleach)
The mutual respect they have for each other and their abilities, and how they fight together?! They're allies who trust each other completely! I LOVE them!!! #CoupleCosplayGoal

art by: Yazawa Ai

4). Nana "Hachiko" Komatsu and Nobu Terashima (Nana)

These two seriously broke my frigging heart. I LOVE Ai Yazawa, and this Manga was bloody brilliant! But these two in the series?!?! They were so cute and perfect together...and then somehow, thy both kind of effed it up! I still ship them, and, desperately hope that the series gets back rolling (*sigh*) so I can see what happens to them!

5). Captain Jack Harkness and...Anyone (Doctor Who & Torchwood)
First I want to say, I wish he'd come back! Second, I LOVED Jack! He was an equal-opportunity lover, and in a way he sees the beauty in every being (even if in a lusty way)!

EDIT: Thanks to my friend Victoria for reminding me of OTP, of OTP's!!!
Art by shinga

1). Jake and Cassie (Animorphs)
This IRC was the first one I EVER saw with an African American Girl, and, a Caucasian American boy! I ship them so much! To this day, I ship Jake and Cassie! They were cute, and sweet together. They also were so mature--thanks in no small part to an alien invasion they fought together! I can't BELIEVE I forgot about them! They mean SO much to me, that I HAD to edit this and make sure they mad it in!

Honorable mentions:
-Joker x Harley
-Ron x Hermione
-Cosima x Delphine
...actually, I'll stop here...this could go on forever

Items I Own, But, Have Yet to Utilize

This Fandom Friday post is brought to by the letter N, for (The) Nerdy Girlie, and the letter S for Super Space Chick. And by readers like you
Today's Fandom Friday is about items we own, but may not have read, watched or played...yet! I have a few books that belong in this, but it is FIVE Fandom Friday right? Also, I tried to keep the items "fandom" related (which really helped my list narrow).

1). Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell which I know many have already read. And I plan on it being next...after I finish...
2). The Magicians by Lev Grossman! I bought about 5 or 6 years ago. I had the WORST time with the first chapter. I couldn't get into it until this week. I think books and music can each occasionally have these times when they don't work for you at the time, but, one day you pick it up and read or listen, and it just clicks!!! That's this one. Seriously, I don't know why it didn't before, but it is now.
3). Witchblade the Complete Series was I remember watching on TV cause I enjoyed the premise of the comic...but felt it was not for me (I felt as though it was not geared towards me at the time). But the show?!?! So bad-a$$! I always wanted to finish the show--and now that I have it on DVD, I can--but since we bought it I haven't played it yet.
4). Lego The Hobbit we got this pretty much when we got our PS4, and I've been wanting to play this...but then I started Pokemon Omega Ruby and Assassin's Creed Unity...and it's pretty much what I want to play. (PS, if you play on 3DS, let's add each other!)
5). Blue Bunnies: Heroes vs Villains is a game we bought while hunting for Munchkin stuff at SDCC in 2013...we haven't played it yet, but we kind of need more people to play it...and not a lot of people want to learn the game with us lol.

Hope you enjoyed this Fandom Friday!

Let's Get Tuff Jigglypuff!

I've been playing a LOT of Pokemon (and Assassin's Creed) lately, and I felt like I'd pay tribute to the Normal-type Pokemon, who is anything but: Jigglypuff!

I remember when Pokemon first came stateside I was in High School, and my brothers and I loved the game, and the accompanying commercial anime! While I wasn't a fan of the "normal" type Pokemon, Jigglypuff on the cartoon was highly entertaining.

You see, J-Puff (his professional performer's handle) had aspirations of becoming a star and liked to sing, rap, and serenade the Kanto region. Sadly, J-Puff's music proved far to soothing, and put Pokemon and trainers alike to sleep. Luckily, J-Puff also packed a sharpie that was hidden in his microphone so--like any young sensitive artist might do--he would draw on his slumbering audeinces. Never anything crude of course...just something to tell Kantonians (it's real): "J-Puff was here!" Luckily, J-Puff reverted back to his name Jigglypuff, and became an extremely successful singer for young children and small Pokemon, as his soothing voice, lifted them to Slumberland for much needed naps (also, he proved to be helpful to insomniac trainers). As it turns out, Jigglypuff had his lineage traced by Henry Louis Gates Jr. and found out he is not only a Normal-type, but, also Fairy-type Pokemon!

In all seriousness, Jigglypuff is one of the Pokemon that when I talk to people about Pokemon, he's one of the most mentioned (after that heavily touted electrical one). But the microphone...and the sharpie, and the cute face Jigglepuff makes when angry? I get it!

Do you have a favorite Pokemon? How about a Pokemon memory?

BMO (from ADVENTURE TIME) Workout Cosplay

So, now that I'm practically caught up on Adventure Time (ok, I have finished through season 5), I'm happy to be more in the loop (versus my previous Netflix only experience)! I really do like this show. And BMO (Beemo?) is too adorable for me not to like! I'm a real sucker for cuteness!!!

And, the BMO inspired workout playlist in it's 8-to-16-bit inspired goodness!

I hope you enjoyed this Workout Cosplay!

Do you watch Adventure Time?

If you have a Workout Cosplay request, please leave a comment, or, tweet me: @Joie_Fatale

Favorite POP!/Funko Vinyls (and Future Faves)

This Fandom Friday post is brought to by the letter N, for (The) Nerdy Girlie, and the letter S for Super Space Chick. And by readers like you

Today's...er, Friday's Fandom Friday (now Monday for this week lol) features my favorite Funko POPs/vinyl figures. Also, at the end of the list, I have featured my top five Future Faves for 2015's release anouncements!

1). Funko x Hikari Batman

Not TECHNICALLY a POP figure, however, this is a Funko/Hikari vinyl Batman was a prize I won from Funko's instagram contest, and--while my picture doesn't do him justice at all, I'm so stoked to have him! (Seriously, the Hikari vinyls are awesome! I would highly suggest them).

2). Boo Berry

One of my earliest POP! figures, Boo, along with Franken-Berry, and, Count Chocula had shiny little POP!'s at SDCC 2011! I wanted all of them, but Boo Berry was MUST get! I LOVE marchmallow cereal...well, at least General Mills. However, I no longer buy them. But I have a nonsensical soft-spot for these cereal's little mascots. Especially the Halloween ones!

3). Donatello

My favorite Ninja turtle (and technically, the most ninja as purple is what faded black turns to heehee) was a must get! We got all four of the renaissance artists brothers, but Don is my favorite!

4). O-Ren Ishii
One of my favorite action movies is Kill Bill v. 1, and O-Ren is my favorite character in the movie! I had been hunting for her, and, Go-Go Yubari's POP!s for a while now, and finally found them both here in Florida!

5). Elphaba (The Wicked Witch of the West)
So I know this is the Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz...but I call her Elphaba as she named this in one of my favorite musicals: Wicked! While I didn't care for the book Wicked is (loosely) based on, the score, the songs, all of it...I love! And she's shiny green!

For my favorite up-coming POP!s here are my top five Future Faves:
1). Sailor Moon (I squee-ed out loud when I read this!)
2). Doctor Who (which was a pleasant surprise, as I heard from a trusted source that BBC and Funko were in talks, as Titan was their vinyl toy maker. However, I prefer Funko...and theirs are cuter).
3). Bravest Warrior's CATBUG!!!!
4). Bleach!!!
5). Hanna Barbera waves 1 & 2 (I love the classic H&B cartoons, and am especially excited for Secret Squirrel, and Penelope Pitstop).

What are your favorite POP! or vinyl figures that you own?

Agent Peggy Carter Workout Cosplay

I'm sure you knew today was going to happen. If you didn't know from this post, this video, this one, or this one...or any of my social media feeds, well...hello and welcome to my blog! :)

Today's Workout Cosplay is the stylish, classy, and bad-a$$ Agent Peggy Carter!

AgentCarterWorkCos.jpg

You may have noticed item number two is none other than the AMAZING Gwen's design! Not only does the shirt look awesome and represent this fantastic fandom, but, all the profits go to Wounded Warriors! So, it's an awesome fandom shirt, for a great cause! Travis also featured this amazing shirt in his Everyday Cosplay of Agent Carter here! You know you want one ;)

I also wanted to share Nina's (of Le Fancy Geek) Agent Carter necklaces, as we as a fanbase are asking: #MakeAgentCarter! They're super cute, and you can get your own here! I'm leaning towards the floral...but the lace is cute too! Decisions!!!

Pic by Nina, from her shop LFGBoutique

Today's playlist was hard in that I'm trying to accumulate songs from the tv show...which not all are available on any one music playlist site--some not at all! So, for this workout playlist, I chose fun swing and big-band songs...and few modern gems cause they fit the general theme (it was so hard not to make an all Puppini Sisters playlist). Hope you enjoy!

IDK if you're watching Agent Carter, if you aren't may I suggest changing that, and checking the show out on Hulu!

And if you like, don't forget to tweet your support for Agent Carter, and, more collectibles & toys featuring her!

#MakeAgentCarter

Favorite Nerdy Items

This Fandom Friday post is brought to by the letter N, for (The) Nerdy Girlie, and the letter S for Super Space Chick. And by readers like you

Today's Fandom Friday highlights some of my favorite nerdy accessories! My favorites happen to fall under the "traditional" accessories of jewelry, and hair stuffs!

1). The Phantom's ring from The Phantom
My Precious...
I got this ring from 7-11 back in '96 when the epically underrated movie The Phantom came out! the hero wore a purple suit, and had these boss skull rings! I was sold! My dad grew up reading the comics and such, so he was enthusiastic to take us to see it! Also, Catherine Zeta-Jones is in it as a spunky pilot (if I recall correctly). Also, this ring save my pinkie from being either chopped off, or, completely disfigured in a car door, as it bounced the door off it...while my hand was there. It also thwarted unwanted advances. That's why this baby is my number one!

2). G.I.R. earrings from Invader Zim
While I still have the green G.I.R. in a dogsuit pair, the Robo-G.I.R. twin fell out of my ear somewhere. I like to wear one of each! G.I.R. is one of my all-time favorite characters; so much so, that I got him in tattoo form (is that an accessrory? Cause if so, that's on this list too...).

3). Osaki Nana's ring from Nana

This is cosplay ring, based on Nana Osaki's Vivienne Westwood armor ring. I got this at SDCC 2006 after getting to FINALLY read Nana via Viz's Shojo Beat Magazine. Yazawa Ai (Nana's creator) created one of my fave manga's Paradise Kiss. I found out about the Nana manga via the internet, and when I FINALLY got to read it, it became my favorite manga story EVER (so far). I still hope to cosplay as Nana O. But I'm really hoping and praying that Yazawa sensei will one day finish the story...cause I want to know what happens!!!!

4). Animaniacs bow from Animaniacs, made by NerdBurger Jewellery

I always get compliments on this bow! I love Animaniacs (especially Wakko), and this bow is so cute, and perfect! Cazz makes such fun accessories and this bow was just SOOO perfect!

5). Huntress brooch from DC Comics, made by Batearrang

Though this is one of my newest items, I love the little frame, and the bubbled effect Jessica used on this! It's also the perfect size, and, the way it's shaped, I can also wear it with more formal attire for events with stricter dress codes! Also, it's too cute to boot!!!

6). My Living Locket
I have an Origami Owl necklace, and I love these things! I wish they had more nerdy charms, but, luckily, many folks on Etsy thought the same thing...and they charge less than the O.O. folks do! I attached my little Catbug charm to it (because I want all Catbug, all the time)! I also have the lightning bolt for Harry Potter and Rock 'n' Roll; and, a stack of books that say "Love To Read" because...well, you know. I put mine on a mini shot bead necklace as OO's necklaces, while cute, are too dainty for everyday wear for me. Also, I feel like my chain suits me more, you know?

Anyway, those are my favorite Fandom Accessories!
What are some of your favorite nerdy accessories?

#MakeAgentCarter

I love, love, LOVE ABC's Agent Carter! She was one of my favorite parts of Captain America: The First Avenger, and, though I hadn't seen the blu-ray shorts featuring her, I was super excited that she was getting a mini-season on ABC!

I'm really excited to be one of #PeggysPeeps with Travis, Gladys, and, Gwen! On Saturdays, we are recapping Agent Carter together and going over our observations, as well as geeking out together! (#GeekOutTogether!).

During our first talk, we got on the topic of Peggy merchandise; or, more accurately, the general lack there of. And thus, the #MakeAgentCarter tag was born!

So, I ask you, dear friend, to join me in a small (polite) campaign for more availability of Agent Peggy Carter merch!

To make it easy, you can copy and paste the following (there should be about 30-35 characters left):
"please, #MakeAgentCarter! It would be awesome to have more items featuring her! @AgentCarterTV @Marvel"

OR! Write your own heart-felt plea for Peggy.

Then, tweet to the list of purveyors of some of our favorite collectibles, below!
Marvel
Disney, Disney Store - I suggest both, as: Disney=ABC! Also, Disney Store, sells/has exclusive Action Figures!
Lego (US), Lego Ideas (Denmark)
Funko
Hasbro
Hot Topic
Sideshow Collectibles
Kotobukiya (See their Bishoujo Marvel collection, and, their ARTFX+ figures!)
Diamond Select Toys (they sell and market the Marvel Select Action figures...especially in comic shops. I believe they'd be "in conjunction" with Marvel)
Hot Toys

So, if you're tweeting Lego: "@Lego_Group: Please, #MakeAgentCarter! It would be awesome to have more items featuring her! @AgentCarterTV @Marvel"

If there are ANY companies you want to see on this list, please leave me a comment with who they are, along with their twitter handle, and I will update!

PLEASE remember: Keep it polite! Keep it civil! And try to include either @AgentCarterTV or, @Marvel on your tweets as much as possible! They are the one's who need to hear it most! And, if I've learned anything from the internet (OK, tbh, punk music taught me that first), it is that we, the people, can make things happen!

And dang it: I WANT MY PEGGY MERCH! I mean: who knows! We could end up with another season for her next year! Also, I'd love to see #MakeAgentMay, #MakeStorm, #MakeBlackWidow and others, out there too!

We CAN do this! We can #MakeAgentCarter everything happen!

Check out our Agent Carter chat about Episode 3!

Pho Across America's Victoria: Adventure in Mobile AL (Guest Post)

Back in 2007 my brother's and I took Japanese at a community college. In my 101 class I was extremely blessed to make a friend (something I wasn't sure would happen). Victoria was this friend!  Victoria and I have become great friends and even blogged on LJ back in the day!

Victoria currently blogs at Pho Across America where she chronicles her travels across all 50 states in the epic search for great Pho! Additionally, Victoria shares her international travels (which often also include pho), and, her passion for Asian cultures!

If I remember correctly, my friendship with Joie dates back to 2007. We took Japanese together at a college in San Diego and have been good friends since. Seven years later, many things have changed. We both have degrees and blogs. Joie is married. On the other hand, I'm still single, but I like it that way. Between working, traveling, and a general dislike of men, I guess I don't really have time for a relationship or whatever they're called these days.

Joie
Victoria & Joie

I've been running Pho Across America for almost two years now. It documents my quest to eat pho, a Vietnamese noodle soup, in all fifty states. I post about pho experiences, my personal trips, cultural notes, and random things I like. If you can get on board, I consider you a Pho King or Queen. This month, Joie joined me for a "phoventure" when I visited her in Pensacola. I'd already done a pho experience in Florida, so Joie's husband Reggie drove us all over to Mobile, Alabama to cross off my 26th state.

Alabama
Making the most of our day, we first visited Mobile's main attraction, the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park. Open to visitors at a low cost, it’s a cool way to spend a day. Touring the huge battleship will take a while but is a fascinating slice of military life, and there's submarine USS Drum to tour as well. There are tons of cool photo ops, and apparently, not to a soul to tell you what you can and cannot do. It's like an adult military playground!
USS Alabama.JPG
Alabama cots.JPG
Our actual pho experience was at Pot Au Pho, and you can read a detailed account of it at Pho Across America. I rate the restaurant setting along with the quality of their pho, and Pot Au Pho scored highly in both categories. Believe it or not, the pho in Mobile was actually quite tasty! It was a perfect phoventure - even if they got my order slightly wrong.

Pot Au Pho.JPG

I'd like to thank Joie and Reggie for hosting me at their place. It was a lovely time and I'm so happy I got to combine work and play during this visit. Not to mention, I was the first friend to visit Joie and Reggie! Be envious!

Be sure to visit Victoria at Pho Across America, Instagram, and, twitter!

SongsThat Changed My Life

This Fandom Friday post is brought to by the letter N, for (The) Nerdy Girlie, and the letter S for Super Space Chick. And by readers like you

This has got to be the toughest list! Seriously...
I'm trying, but seriously, Megan and I were texting about this, I've been going through songs since this topic was announced! I realize too, that, I'm not sure what the writer's intent with all of these songs are, only, what they mean to me (which I do a heinous job of explaining). But that's what is so awesome about music!

So, here's my narrowed list.
1). Basket Case by Green day
Basket Case by Green Day on Grooveshark
My number one song (which also has the only song that immediately popped into my head for today's prompt) is Green Day's Basket Case! I remember it being the first song I discovered on my own (i.e. not my parent's music) as a kid, and I am quite sure that's why they became my favorite band! It's my second favorite song of theirs (after this one).

2). True Believers by Bouncing Souls
True Believers by The Bouncing Souls on Grooveshark
This song is such a great sing-a-long! I love still how it makes me feel inside! It makes my tummy warm and my heart flutter! IDK why, but it really does. It's a lot like love, this song (for me at least). This song is one of my favorite, mosh pit, put-your-arm-around-a-stranger-who-is-now-family songs!

3). Light My Candle from Rent
Light My Candle by Jonathan Larson on Grooveshark
This was the first song I ever heard The Tenor sing. He sang it in passing, and I knew the song from the movie version, of the AMAZING musical: Rent! I like him before, but, hearing him sing this: I was SMITTEN! (We also like to sing this together...cause we're dorks).

4). Linda, Linda by The Blue Hearts
Linda Linda by The Blue Hearts on Grooveshark
This was the first song I learned in Japanese! It's a great Punk rock song, by a legendary band! It's also the title inspiration for an adorable movie: Linda, Linda, Linda (which I originally only watched because of my love for the song, but, I totally own, and, recommend). Also, my brother and I sang this at Comic Con for a Japanese channel (?) while at SDCC! I LOVE this song!

5). Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want by The Smiths
Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want by The Smiths on Grooveshark
I feel like I was really late on The Smiths. I wasn't a hater, but wasn't a liker of them in my adolescence. I did come to appreciate them in my mid-20's. Gosh, I wish I could explain this, but, I guess, I could just sum it up with: The Smiths...(please tell me that is sufficient lol).

BONUS TRACK! (you know me)
For Good from Wicked
For Good by Wicked on Grooveshark
It's a great song, and reminds me of all of my friends, and, life experiences. But, also, in 2009 I went with a group of girlfriends to see Wicked, and my BFF hit me on the knee and nodded at the stage meaning "us" The song makes me a bit teary-eyed thinking about it.(Also, Idina and Kristen are goddesses of song!)

What are your Fandom Friday songs? Leave me a link because, yes! I want to listen!!!

Daria Morgendorffer Workout Cosplay

A few weeks ago, I asked about who you all would like to see in Workout Cosplay form!

Usagi tweeted me with a GREAT candidate! I will confess, this is a bit of a "I miss CA" post. See, I don't have mountains within driving distance, and I really want to go snowboarding. And so, this is Daria...on a winter vacation!

Daria.WorkCos.jpg

Also, those snowboarding boots are the most beautiful boarding boots I have EVER seen. I'm saving for those!!!! *drools*

I am hecka blessed to be a child of the 80's-90's, because in my humble opinion: best cartoons EVER!

And Daria was one of those! I immediately gravitated towards the show when it came out I was in Junior High. Also, in elementary school I was labeled as Daria back when Beevis and Butt-Head had her as a recurring character prior to her own show (two boys in my class swore they were B & BH...and I got labeled as Daria *shrugs*).

Hope you enjoyed this workout cosplay!

Do you have anyone you'd love to see as a Workout Cosplay? Let me know in the comments, or, on twitter!

I Have a Dream...

This speech is the famous "I Have a Dream..." speech by Martin Luther King Jr.

I love this speech, as he addresses that people of all colors, of all beliefs, and all genders be treated as free, and, that one day, we won't even blink at these differences. His crusade was for all people.

This day is a day of remembrance of that.

This day is for everyone! :)

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Sandy ("The Sandman") Workout Cosplay

SandyWorkCos.jpg

This is a Sandy inspired workout outfit (with a bit of Pitch to keep it from looking like  Goldmember)!

Sandy is the loveable dream-maker, as inspired by one of the guardians (not those guardians). Sandy is a man of no words in the movie, and is an extremely powerful hero, who is humble, and thoughtful. He's more the thoughtful strategist of the Guardians. Also, he's the one who can defeat the main villain Pitch (the boogeyman) and, his polar opposite!

You may already be able to tell, I really like this movie! In fact, it is one of my favorite animated movies!

And for my fellow workout-ers (who also may or may not daydream on the treadmill or while pumping weights), a Sandy-inspired playlist!

Sandman by Joie_Fatale on Grooveshark

Hope you liked this Sandy inspired workout cosplay!

Do you daydream when you workout? What do you most often think of? (I tend to think about how much time I've done, and, who I want to cosplay as at SDCC).

Fandom Based Resolutions!

My Fandom Resolutions for 2015 go back to my blogging/life resolution of time management. I have more time this year than...well, EVER! I plan on doing a lot more, but I am currently on making those things habits, more than resolutions. But it's the new year, and it's always fun to resolve to do what you've always wanted to do. I put in parenthesis how these resolutions are also involved in my fan girl life!

1). Keep running & physically training!(Cosplay x Hunger Games)- I've been working out with friends this last month and I am seeing results (which is needed for me). I want to keep doing this and add more running to the mix. This also goes in with my last year's goals. But I feel a lot better about this year. (yes, for cosplay, and SDCC endurance).

2). READ! (books, comics, history)- My goodness, 2014 I FAILED in my reading. Like, I thought I might need to change my blog title (I might anyway...I don't want to though). I did not read as much. This year that will change!
My textbook & workbook!
3). Japanese (anime, dramas, movies, manga)-  back in 2007 my brother, and I took Japanese. There we made friends with Victoria, and others with whom we still talk. I however, have fallen out of practice. This year I plan on changing that. I have my texts, and am trying to get Rosetta Stone so I can have practice!

I need to get a "Sewing for N00bs" book too...
4). Cosplay & Sewing (multi-fandoms and...well cosplay)- I'd like to learn, and, make a few simple things on my sewing machine.  I mean, for crying out loud: I HAVE A SEWING MACHINE (now) so I really have no business not making at least a throw pillow right? Also, I'm working on two cosplays, and would like to work on more. I would LOVE to sew at least part of it. My unfortunate downfall (my biggest one I think) is my lack of patience. I want to finish a project THAT DAY! So, I'll have to start small, and as I get better, I
Monthly planner...for the look ahead!
5). Dedicated TV/VG hours (shows, Hulu, Netflix, & games)- I don't have cable, so I have to Hulu. So, to better take care of my time, the shows I like will be in my planner, and should I finish all the things I need to do, then, and ONLY THEN will be video game time! I'm basically, going to treat myself like an elementary student, which isn't a bad thing. No more being lazy! Also, since I'm practically Hulu only, I'd like to see about "Live Tweeting for the Hulu Dependent" for shows, that way, no spoilers for Arrow, The Flash, Supernatural...basically anything not on NBC or ABC I have to Hulu.

Those are my resolutions!
Do you have any fandom resolutions?

Jack Frost Workout Cosplay

As I stated last week: I ship Jack (Dreamworks' Rise of the Guardians) and Elsa (Disney's Frozen)! I have only seen some amazing fan art of the two, but I kind of love it!!!

Since I have done an Elsa Workout Cosplay, Jack seemed like the natural fit...also I just finished watching both Rise of the Guardians, and, Jack Frost this season, so I had to!!!

Here's the outfit:

I'm curious: Do you have any cross studio 'ships? Or any cross studio specials you'd love to see (I'm still hoping for SuperWhoLock myself)? Let me know in the comments or, on twitter!!!
